Letter from PT

Farewell from Pastor Tim & Patty
December 27,2009

Well, the time has come. The time for our departure is at hand.
As you know, the more deeply you love someone, the more painful it is to say “goodbye.” Patty and I deeply love you – our CBC family!
It has been an extreme honor to have served as your pastor for the last 18 years.
We are proud of you. Your teachable spirits and growing intimacy with Christ are evidence of “dynamic discipleship.” Thanks also for your graciousness, encouragement, and loyalty to us. So many precious memories are absorbed into our souls forever.

On this, our final Sunday, we have mixed emotions –
One half of our hearts is grieving. It pains us to separate from you – our spiritual children, brothers & sisters, team-mates, and dear friends.
The other half of our hearts is rejoicing with anticipation: Anticipating what Christ is going to do through CBC in the years ahead. We truly believe that some of your best years as a disciple-making church are ahead. We are also anticipating what Christ will do through us in our new ministry at Harvest Bible Chapel, Turks & Caicos Islands. We are “jumping” into this adventure of faith, and thanks to our years with you, we are even more mature and prepared for this new challenge.

We’d like to leave you with this Scripture as a constant reminder:
“Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” I Corinthians 15:58
The final line of Paul’s letter to Timothy (II Timothy 4:22) is most appropriate-
“The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you.”

Living F.H.P.,
Pastor Tim & Patty

P.S. I’m compelled to make these parting confessions:

  1. I really do love cats
  2. I am, deep in my heart, a White Sox fan!!
