“One minute after you slip behind the parted curtain, you will either be enjoying a personal welcome from Christ or catching your first glimpse of gloom as you have never known it. Either way, your future will be irrevocably fixed and eternally unchangeable.” So writes Erwin Lutzer in his above titled book, which will be our complementary text to the Bible as we study what God has revealed about everyone’s experience after death and into eternity.
What perspectives do you have about eternity and were they formed by our culture or His Word? What understanding would you share with a friend or family member who asks you what life is like after death? Do you know where to go in Scripture to answer these questions?
Here’s a partial listing of some of the items to be studied: channeling, reincarnation, near-death experiences, sheol, hades, purgatory, a restful sleep, a collapsing tent, a permanent home, your personality, your intermediate state, your resurrection body, the death of infants, the new Jerusalem, our new occupation, our new family, a new order of reality, characteristics of hell, the justice of God, death by suicide, how to die and what God requires.
